Early Learning Centre

Mamre Anglican School is a community of parents, students and teachers working together to provide quality educational, spiritual and emotional experiences through the process we know as formal education. The School is situated in lovely bush surroundings and provides a small friendly school environment.

Mamre Anglican School Early Learning Centre is a wonderfully, balanced co-educational environment of inquiry based learning and direct teaching. It is a place where the pastoral care of each student is valued and nurtured and the role of the family is seen as crucial to each child’s development.

The Early Learning Centre comprises two learning rooms. One is for 3 year-old children and the other is for Pre-Kindergarten 4 year-old children. Children need to be 3, or 4 to commence at Mamre in the respective rooms.

The Early Learning Centre is an extension of the K-6 Junior School. Both rooms embody the very best of early childhood education with a balance of an Enquiry and Direct Instruction learning approach. Underpinning the learning framework is the Reggio Emilia Philosophy.

Both programs runs 5 days per week where children may come for anywhere between 1 and 5 days.

The Early Learning Centre is coordinated by Miss Janae O'Brien. Janae is Early Childhood trained and is a gifted, dynamic and innovative classroom practitioner and is the room leader for the Pre-Kindergarten 4 year-old room.

Mrs Deborah Morgan is the room leader for the 3 year-old room and Mrs Janice O’Brien works across both rooms.

Both rooms are a dynamic, vibrant place of learning. Our Pre-Kindergarten children are instructed daily in the PreLit program. Additionally students visit the Library each day and have a specialist Physical Education lesson. The children attend Chapel each week, have daily fine and gross motor lessons and structured lessons in Literacy and Numeracy. The elements of music, dance and drama are also a key part of the daily activities for the children.

The children wear the Mamre sports uniform which serves as a further link to the Junior School.

The Mamre Anglican School Early Learning Centre is well-established and has been warmly received by parents and the community.

The children come with excitement and anticipation each day.

I welcome the chance to share with you our inspiring Early Learning Centre learning environment where wonder and curiosity is fostered amongst our youngest students.
